Summer 2016
In this Georgia homeland performance series, an Elizabethan collar, E-Collar, or pet cone, (sometimes humorously called a pet lamp-shade, pet radar dish or cone of shame) was appropriated as a costume device. This protective medical device worn by usually a cat or dog is shaped like a truncated cone to prevent the animal from biting or licking at its body or scratching at its head or neck while wounds or injuries heal.
These ritual ceremonies were created as a response to the termination from Mill Hill Arts Residency 2016 to heal emotional + spiritual injuries.
